Project Proposal

The proposed project is to develop and implement a website for organizations and security professionals in the United Arab Emirates that offers briefings on cyber threat intelligence. The main objective is to create an informative platform that gathers, analyzes, and visualizes significant cybersecurity vulnerabilities, active attack campaigns, and data breaches that are relevant to business and government organizations in the Gulf region. The platform will be a trusted digital resource for security teams, IT administrators, and business owners to learn about emerging threats and the clear steps to mitigate them.

The website will provide weekly briefings based on public advisories from trusted sources, including CISA, the National Vulnerability Database (NVD), and the UAE Cyber Security Council. Each briefing will outline a disclosed vulnerability or incident, its relevance to UAE infrastructure, and affected sectors, and provide practical mitigation advice. The severity rating system enables visitors to rapidly identify critical, medium, and low-priority threats, enabling organizations to triage and respond to security concerns efficiently.

The website will have a clean and professional interface with pages well organized for briefings, services, and contact information. Responsive design means the site will work well on all devices, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones. The platform will also act as a professional service, with an inquiry section where organizations can request tailored threat briefings or security consultations.

The website will be hosted on Microsoft Azure using Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), which will provide the reliability, scalability, and security needed to maintain high availability. DDoS protection, firewall configuration, and backup options are all features provided by Azure, which are especially critical for a cybersecurity-focused platform. With IaaS, you have full control over server configuration, which is directly applicable to a career in cybersecurity and helps develop practical skills.

To summarize, ThreatLens UAE is designed to deliver Gulf-centric cyber threat intelligence to UAE organizations and security professionals using modern web technologies and cloud infrastructure.

Why ThreatLens UAE is Unique

Unlike international threat intelligence platforms that offer broad global coverage, ThreatLens UAE will focus solely on cybersecurity threats affecting organizations in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region. Most of the mainstream threat intelligence sites report on global incidents, with little context for local businesses or government entities in the UAE. What makes this platform unique is that it curates and explains threats in terms of which industries and sectors in the region are actually affected, including government, finance, healthcare, energy, and telecommunications.

The aim is to make threat intelligence more accessible and useful for organizations that may not have large, dedicated security teams. Instead of sifting through hundreds of global advisories, a security admin in Dubai or Abu Dhabi can go to ThreatLens UAE and immediately see which threats are important to them and what to do about them.
